Sort of wing
like aeroplane one but running in water and so making a lifting force.
Ventilation:
On
a fin or on a hydrofoil, when an air bubble comes from water surface and
disturbs their action, it is called "ventilation".
"Canard" configuration:
In
a classical airplane configuration, wings are in a front position and the
stabilisation unit in a rear position (the tail). Some configurations show
an inverted disposition. (stabilisator on the front, wings at rear). This
sort of disposition is called "canard", french word for "duck", because
it looks like a flying duck (wings at the rear of its body and its flat
bill like stabilisator) This configuration
is used for "le Foilboard".
