"Le Foilboard I " : tests on may 2001
I made somes little changes
on the main foil and now the board is sailing correctly. There is no ventilation
problem any more.
So, I give "Le foilboard" to
a very good funboarder to try it with a strong wind.
A new problem then occurs. When
my friend gives the maximum sail power with a 20 knots wind, the front "canard"
takes off and the board pulls the noze up. (see the folowing picture)
In short, I think the main
foil position is not correct in relation to the footstraps and the rig.
Unfortunatly, I cannot move
back the foil and I have to make another box.

Le Foilboard I : test on 2nd of january 2003
More than one year is elapsed
from the last modifications (see above). Somes no significant tests (no wind
enough) were made during this time.
On the 2nd of january 2003 we
have wind enough at last ( about 25/30 knots)
The wind is good but the board
does not run really correctly
Take off is hard and once "flying"
sailing is a little difficult ( unsteadiness )
There is yet a positive point.
The board no pulls the noze up any more.
So, I think the main foil angle of attack is not good during take off.
